Through the support of Road to the Top, talented young professional Skylar Wireman will spend her first summer competing in Europe under the tutelage of RTTT mentor Laura Kraut.
Wireman, 20, won the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Fort Worth in 2023 and competed at her first FEI World Cup Final the following year in Riyadh. She also represented the United States in the 2025 Longines League of Nations in Abu Dhabi.
Working alongside her mother Shayne at Chestnut Hills Equestrian in Bonsall, CA, Wireman has spent the majority of her career competing on the west coast of the United States and has never before been able to spend an extended time abroad. Road to the Top accepted Wireman's application to the program, recognizing her exceptional talent and potential. She will compete in Europe this summer with Kraut and her team.
"I couldn't be more grateful to have the opportunity to join Road to the Top this summer. The grant allows me the incredible opportunity to stay in Europe so that I can ride and train with Laura Kraut," Wireman said. "Having such an amazing mentor and trainer is going to help me reach my long-term goals of competing on more Senior Nations Cup teams as well as the Olympics someday."
Road to the Top will cover costs associated with stalls, competition fees, shipping, and housing. Kraut and her exceptional team of trainers and riders will mentor Wireman as she competes at various competitions throughout Europe. Wireman joins fellow RTTT athletes, Carlee McCutcheon and Trent McGee, as they develop their skills in the saddle and on the ground through the generosity of elite trainers, Laura Kraut and Katie Prudent.
"I am thrilled to have Skylar join the RTTT team for the summer in Europe," Kraut shared. "She is such a talented and dedicated young rider, and I believe her experience her will help boost the strong start she has had in her professional career."
Road to the Top is honored to have Katie Prudent, Laura Kraut, and Beezie Madden as trainers who donate their time and talent to build the next generation of American equestrian leaders. To learn more about Road to the Top, visit RoadToTheTop.org.
